where bold ideas meet real-world impact

mission

The MIT-GE Vernova Energy and Climate Alliance is a collaboration that brings together MIT researchers and GE Vernova experts to develop and scale sustainable energy systems worldwide. The mission is to advance research, education, and career opportunities across MIT while focusing on critical themes: decarbonization, electrification, digital + AI, and renewable energy acceleration.

focus

electrify

Advance electric technologies that can power the future of homes, transport, and industry. From vehicles to heating and beyond, electrification is key to reducing dependence on fossil fuels and building sustainable systems at scale.

decarbonize

Design low-carbon pathways for power generation and manufacturing. By leveraging breakthroughs in clean fuels, carbon capture, and advanced nuclear, we can reduce emissions across the most energy-intensive sectors.

accelerate

Scale renewable and low-carbon energy systems—including solar, wind, hydrogen, and nuclear—to meet rising global demand. Rapid deployment and integration of these solutions will be critical to reaching climate goals.

optimize

Transform energy systems with smarter design, digital tools, and AI-powered models. By optimizing efficiency and resilience, we can ensure cleaner energy reaches more people, more reliably, at lower cost.
